Plastic Blue Whale Replica

Would you believe its heart is the size of a small CAR!?!

Our Plastic Blue Whale Replica

Our highly-realistic plastic blue whale toy makes a terrific model for teaching your children, grandchildren, or students about the wonders of nature, whales, and the undersea world of ocean animals. Our plastic toy whale is made of solid plastic and is quite durable. Be sure to take a look at our other whale toys and gifts.

About Blue Whales

The blue whale (Balaenoptera musculus) is a baleen whale. At nearly 100 feet long and weighing 180 tons or more, the blue whale is the largest animal to ever exist on earth. As a baleen whale, the blue whale feed on plankton and other small oceanic life forms by sifting seawater through the great baleen sheets in their mouths and swallowing anything caught.

Like many species of whale, the blue whale was hunted nearly to extinction until international laws were put in place to protect them in 1966. In 2002, there were estimated to be between 5000 and 12000 blue whales living in the world in roughly seven concentrations.

Beluga Whale

He's been gone a long time, but we've got him back!!!

Our Plastic Beluga Whale

This large flexible, realistic-looking beluga whale replica is made of hollow plastic. The Beluga whale is white in color and measures 7.5 inches long from the lower jaw to tail. His mouth is open and he can float, which will make him a bath time favorite. He also comes equipped with a realistic squeaker, which will provide hours of entertainment! This beluga whale can be used as a gift, for a science project, for decorations, as a gag, party favor or as a collectible. Check out our other whale toys and gifts.

About Beluga Whales

The Beluga Whale (Delphinapterus leucas) is an Arctic or sub-Arctic species of cetacean related to narwhals. It measures up to 16 ft in length and all-white in color with a distinctive protuberance on the head. From a conservation perspective, the beluga is considered "near threatened or critically endangered." The adult beluga is rarely mistaken for another species, because it is completely white or whitish-gray in color. Calves, however, are usually gray. Its head is unlike that of any other cetacean. Like most toothed whales it has a melon—an oily, fatty tissue lump found at the center of the forehead. The beluga's melon is extremely bulbous and even malleable. The beluga is able to change the shape of its head by blowing air around its sinuses. Unlike many dolphins and whales, the vertebrae in the neck are not fused together, allowing the beluga to turn its head laterally.

Humpback Whale

A gentle giant of the sea!

Our Humpback Whale

Our humpback whale measures approximately 6 inches in length. It is bluish gray in color with white markings, and is slightly squeezable. This whale would make a wonderful pal for the bath, as it floats and is sure to bring hours of bath time fun. It would also be great to use in school projects and would be a unique addition as a party favor for those summer birthdays! Come see our wonderful assortment of humpback whale toys and gifts.

About Humpback Whales

The humpback whale (Megaptera novaeangliae) is a species of baleen whale. One of the larger rorqual species, adults range in length from 39-52 feet and tip the scales at approximately 79,000 pounds. Take a look at this image to see the comparison of the whale's size to that of a human. The humpback whale has a unique body shape, with long pectoral fins and a knobbly head. It is also an acrobatic animal, often breaching and slapping the water.

Humpback whales typically migrate up to 16,000 miles each year, and are found in oceans and seas around the world. Humpbacks feed only in the summer, and migrate to tropical or sub-tropical waters to breed and give birth in the winter. During these winter months, the whales fast and live off their fat reserves. During the rest of the year, their menu consists mostly of krill and small fish.

There are at least 80,000 humpback whales worldwide. Once hunted to the brink of extinction, humpbacks are now sought by whale-watchers, typically in parts of Australia, Canada, New Zealand, South America, and the United States.

Beaded Dolphin Keychain from Guatemala

Take Flipper everywhere with you!

Our Beaded Dolphin Keychain

The beading on these blue and silver dolphin keychains is securely stitched into a woven fabric of beads and is very sturdy. Unlike some beaded animals I've seen that are beautiful and engaging but very delicate, these dogs are durable and with normal handling will hold up extremely well. Check out our other dolphins as well as our page of beaded animals and beaded keychains from Guatemala. When you purchase one of these unique animals from our collection, you help in a number of ways. You help save tapirs, because that's what we do. You help the local artisans in Guatemala who need an outlet for their work (yes, jobs!), and you help my new friend Catherine with her sustainable business of working with the artisans of Guatemala to maintain jobs for themselves and make beautiful art for many people around the world to enjoy.

About Dolphins

The dolphin is a toothed whale. There are many species in the world's oceans and rivers. The most famous Bottlenose is "Flipper". The Bottlenose gets it's name from its short, stubby beak. It's color can vary considerably, but it usually runs light to slate gray on it's upper body with lighter sides and pale, pinkish gray on it's belly. It can grow up to 12 feet long and weight up to 1,400 pounds.

Plastic Galapagos Island Fur Seal

A truely unique addition to your school project!

Our Plastic Galapagos Fur Seal

Our plastic Galapagos fur seal is realistic enough for your animal collection, school projects including Galapagos Island dioramas, or to be used as a toy, addition to your miniature zoo, and much more. Add them to an aquatic themed birthday cake! This little plastic seal measures almost 2 1/4 inches diagonally from his tail to its nose. The words "FUR SEAL" are moulded into the bottom. Please check out our other seal toys and gifts.

About Galapagos Fur Seals

The Galapagos fur seal (Arctocephalus galapagoensis) is named for the shape of its head, which is said to resemble that of a bear ("arctos" means "bear," and "cephalus" means "head"). They live only in the Galapagos Islands and feed on fish, squid, and octopus. Sea lions also live in the Galapagos, but the seals and sea lions don't apparently share territories or compete for food. The seals live on and around rocks with caves in them along the islands' rugged coasts. The pups nurse longer than other fur seal species, and stay with their mothers for up to three years. The species is considered Vulnerable by the IUCN. Hunting in the 19th Century depleted the numbers of these fur seals, and more recently, depletions of their food fish have affected their numbers.

Stuffed Harbor Seal

This amazing, lovable stuffed animal gets our SEAL of approval!

Our Stuffed Harbor Seal

This beautiful stuffed harbor seal is soft, cuddly, and big enough to really hug! Well-constructed by Wild Republic, this plush seal features realistically-detailed tail and flippers. Its claws are constructed of stiff foam and are not sharp or harmful. He has such a sweet expression on his face! Truely a remarkable addition to any stuffed animal or aquatic animal collection, or just a great gift for the animal lover in your life! Check out our other seal toys and gifts.

About Harbor Seals

Harbor seals are aquatic mammals located in the temperate and arctic oceans of the Northern Hemisphere. Also known as the common seal, these creatures are the most widely distributed animals of their kind (walruses and other seals). Adult harbor seals can reach a length of over 6 feet, and can weigh as much as 370 pounds. Females give birth to a single pup per successful mating, which they care for alone. Harbor seal pups are able to swim within hours of birth. Harbor seals feed primarily on fish and occasionally on crustaceans, squid, and even seabirds.

There are an estimated 5-6 million harbor seals worldwide, which means that, as a species, they are stable and not threatened. In some cases, it is legal to kill harbor seals to protect commercial fisheries. Even so, harbor seals are protected from commercial hunting by many nations in their range, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, and Norway. Their population off the East Coast of the United States has grown significantly in recent years, and they've been sighted in New York Harbor, Boston Harbor , and as far south as Florida.

Stuffed Walrus

Look who's back in stock at TPF!

Our Stuffed Walrus

Our stuffed walrus is especially soft, squishy, and cuddly. He has lots of wrinkles, just like a real walrus. It's one of the "Natural Poses" series by Wild Republic, a brand you know and trust as always maintining the highest standards of toy safety in today's world. All parts of this toy walrus are non-toxic and surface washable. He's not only cuddly, he's also colletible. Check out our other walrus toys and gifts. To find more animals in this line, or see a list of our entire inventory of stuffed animals, beanies and puppets, check out our Stuffed Animal Page.

About Walruses

The two subspecies of walrus, the Pacific, which is the largest, and the Atlantic live in the Northern Hemisphere in the arctic and subarctic regions. The tusks, which give the walrus its distinctive appearance, are found on both the male (bull) and female (cow). Cows weigh up to 2,800 pounds and reach up to 10 feet long. Bulls are much larger at up to 4,000 pounds and up to 12 feet long. Like sea lions, walruses are able to rotate their rear flippers under pelvis and pivot their front flippers to the side, giving them the abililty to walk and climb. These semi-aquatic mammals have a thick layer of fat beneath their tough leathery skin, which is covered by a thin layer of light brown hair. In warm weather, tiny blood vessels in the skin dilate, increasing circulation, which sheds excess body heat. This causes the skin to turn pink.

The hang tag on our stuffed walrus says, "Hello! I am a walrus. I'm a BIG guy - I'm more than 10 feet long and can weigh up to 2 tons. Aren't my tusks awesome? They are actually giant teeth. Although I live in the Arctic, I have a thick layer of fat called blubber that keeps me warm in the coldest weather. I can walk on all four of my fins and can even run as fast as you! Wanna race?"
