Animal Carabiner Flashlights

Clip 'em to your gear to stay safe trick-or-treating!!

Our Carabiner Animal Flashlights

Our carabiner animal flashlights are the coolest way to make sure you always have a light nearby! Look at the tail, they simply open up to snap onto a key ring, backpack, belt, book bag, or anyplace else a person can hook something. The light is surprisingly bright for such a small item! Keep one next to your bed, by the back door, inside your car or on your bike. The light is bright enough to find things in the dark - such as finding the lock on your house or car door. Helps keep both kids and adults safe when unexpected scenarios come up. Just press the button on the critter's back, and you have light! Is there a better way to find the outhouse on a camping trip than to let our flashlight animals find the trail for you? Or what about lighting your way on Halloween? Fun for birthday parties, as stocking stuffers, or Hanukkah gifts for any age. Check out our other bird toys and gifts and our multi-style animal flashlights. The animal flashlights page also shows you what the lights look like when the light is on! If you have a teeeeeny little screwdriver, you can pop in a replacement battery. However, we've noticed that the lights last for quite a long time on the original battery.

About Keel-Billed Toucans

Toucans are brightly-colored birds with distinctively-large bills, primarily located in Central and South America, Mexico, the Caribbean, and southern Florida. Toucans are omnivores, feeding primarily on fruits, eggs, insects, and small birds and reptiles. Both the male and female share responsibilities in caring for their clutch of 2-4 eggs, taking turns seated on the clutch to incubate their young. The large bill (usually 1/3 of the bird’s total length) is made of spongy, hollow bone struts covered in keratin, a hard protein that also makes up hair and nails in mammals.

Also known as the sulfur-billed and rainbow-billed toucan, the keel-billed toucan (Ramphastos sulfuratus) is typically 12-22 inches long and weighs under a pound. Keel-billed toucans are found from southern Mexico to Venezuela and Columbia.

Soft Play Plastic Thorny Devil - 19 Inches Long!

Our Soft Play Latex Thorny Devil

This engaging, realistic-looking soft play latex thorny devil replica is made of foam inside with a natural latex rubber exterior. It is 19 inches from nose to tail, and IT FLOATS! This replica is soft and squishy and but returns to its original shape after you squeeze it. You can even bounce it on the floor! It is neither sharp nor poking. These latex rubber "soft play" squeezable floating animals are SO much fun! You can use them in the tub or pool, or play with them as a toy on a dry surface. They are so realistic that they are educational, too, as they teach youngsters about living animals. Because this thorny devil toy is so amazingly realistic, it serves as a great example for a science project, a gag gift, or serves as a collectible. Check out our other lizard toys and gifts and our growing collection of soft play toy and replica animals.

About Thorny Devils or Thorny Dragons

The thorny devil or thorny dragon (Moloch horridus) is an Australian desert animal. It grows up to 8 inches long and can live to the age of 20 years. Thorny devils have large external spines which discourage predators. This strange desert animal has a false head. It dips its real head between its legs and only a head-like protrusion on its back shows. It has an amazing ability to camoflauge. It is brown and tan with spots, making it almost indistinguishable from the desert floor. It eats ants and can stuff itself with well over a thousand in a day. It drinks water in the inhospitable desert from dew which it collects at night.

Video of horned toad squirting blood; and a plastic horned toad for your home :)

Plastic Toy Horned Toad Here's one of our most popular items. Why? Mainly because it's hard to find horned toad toys - these wonderfull little animals are perfectly harmless and so cute and interesting. I found a video online that shows its most curious ability.

See video of horned lizard squirting blood from its eye

When I was a youngster and we'd catch horned toads on my dad's ranch, I was fooled into dropping one when it squirted blood. I though I'd damaged the animal, even though I was being very careful! We didn't make the linked video, but we thought it was interesting. It will open in a new tab or window. When you're finished viewing, you can close the new browser tab or window to return to this page.

We love to see your projects and we LOVE it when you get good grades!

A very happy mother wrote to us:

Hi! About a month ago I ordered a Horned Toad and a Thorny Devil from you for my son's project for his school's Academic Fair. We just finished the fair and Marshal made a 100 on his project with very high marks for the animal examples he used (your toys!). This was a big boost to him and he worked very hard to make sure his report was as good as his visual project was. I am attaching some pictures of the project! Thanks again for the speedy service!!!!! His name is Marshal Rainwater and he's in the 3rd grade at Hancock Creek Elementary here in sunny Cape Coral Florida. (P.S. - This was made in a child's shoe box. The background is an aquarium background, the 'sand' is crushed almonds colored, and then of course your lovely figures including the 'box' the devil came in.) -- Mandie

Thanks for telling us! We're all smiles around here. Great work, Marshal. We're glad we could help! By the way, the "box the devil came in" consists of two halves, light tan in color. The horned toad is standing on one, and the other is just behind the thorny devil. The thorny devil is a puzzle, and the pieces come in a re-closable plastic case. Marshal used his ingenuity and put the case to use as stones for his diorama. Very clever :)

Throny devil lizard 3-D puzzle

You and your kids will love this three dimensional plastic lizard puzzle! It looks a lot like a desert horned toad, but it's an entirely different species. It has approximately 20 interlocking parts, and is fun for many ages. I personally find them a lot of fun to assemble, and they're not as easy as they look unless you're under the age of about 12! The kids have a great time with them. We have quite a number of animal species available including dinosars. They can be a great indoor activity when it gets so cold outside! You can get several puzzles and have a timed contest, or put the pieces of a number of different animals all in one pile and let each person find the pieces for their own animal. When you're done, you can either put them away in their plastic case, or keep them on the shelf as an animal toy collectible replica!
