About Green Anole Lizards

"Anole" lizards refer to members of the family Polychrotidae. The green or Carolina anole (Anolis carolinensis) is the only anole native to North America, concentrated in he southeastern United States.

While the green anole has the ability to change the color of it's skin in reaction to mood or threat, it is not a true chameleon. The green anole can also self-amputate its tail in response to an attack, but again, it is not related to the gecko. The green anole spends most of its time in trees, hunting small insects. An influx of the Cuban brown anole into Florida and the deep south has begun to push the native green anole further north.

This plastic iguana has a lot of character (and a lot of wrinkles) for such a small animal

Toy iguana made of plastic Our Plastic Iguana

This engaging, realistic-looking plastic iguana miniature is made of somewhat flexible plastic. This replica has detailed skin and is painted green and black. It may be a green iguana indigenous to Central and South America. This iguana makes for a nice pet, fits into a shoebox diorama, or serves as a great collectible. Check out our other iguana toys and gifts.

About Iguanas

Green Iguanas can grow to 7 feet in length, most which is from their excessively long tail. Males also have a large flap called a dewalp which make them appear even larger. If an iguana is grabbed by the tail from a predator, it will snap off and grow back without harm to the iguana. Green iguanas have amazingly adaptable fingers and claws designed for climbing. Iguanas also hear superbly. Iguanas are diurnal and can be seen basking in the top branches of trees. They can fall 40-50 feet without getting hurt. Their skin is tough and water resistant. Green iguanas are ominivorous and live often in groups. They hatch many eggs in burrows which they abandon. Little iguanas are born and grow without any parental assistance. Iguanas are threatened by hunters who prize their meat.

Throny devil lizard 3-D puzzle

You and your kids will love this three dimensional plastic lizard puzzle! It looks a lot like a desert horned toad, but it's an entirely different species. It has approximately 20 interlocking parts, and is fun for many ages. I personally find them a lot of fun to assemble, and they're not as easy as they look unless you're under the age of about 12! The kids have a great time with them. We have quite a number of animal species available including dinosars. They can be a great indoor activity when it gets so cold outside! You can get several puzzles and have a timed contest, or put the pieces of a number of different animals all in one pile and let each person find the pieces for their own animal. When you're done, you can either put them away in their plastic case, or keep them on the shelf as an animal toy collectible replica!
