About Diamondback Rattlesnakes

Found in Mexico and Southern North America, the western diamondback rattlesnake is responsible for the second-largest number of snakebite fatalities in the United States. Adults commonly grow to almost four feet in length, and are found from central Arkansas to California.

Diamondback Rattlesnakes have a life expectancy of more than 20 years, and are known to be aggressive against humans, rarely backing down from a confrontation. Their distinctive rattle is usually the only warning the snake gives to its presense, using the rattle to warn off potential predators before striking.
