Cuddly Stuffed Walrus

At Tapir and Friends, we're lucky to have the best customers in the world. We feel so privileged to be able help such nice people fulfill birthday wishes, school project needs, and more. Now that we have a feedback option on our website, our customers have the opportunity to let us know how we're doing. We're absolutely delighted to get feedback like this recent review of our sweet stuffed walrus: "Softest friend ever!  Bought for my daughter's birthday, so she hasn't seen it yet, but it is the softest, cuddliest friend and I'm sure she will be absolutely enchanted with it! Thank-you for such fast shipping & gentle packaging. We are now big fans of Tapir & Friends!!"

Plastic Red Squirrel

Go for a walk in the woods right now, and you're very likely to find industrious squirrels gathering supplies for the long, dark winter. If you hear chewing or chirping, watch your head as you pass under the firs and spruces; hulls and other debris may rain down from above. Our adorable red squirrel is munching on an acorn and would make the perfect addition to your fall or Christmas decor.

Summer may be many months away, but you can carry a happy reminder of it in your purse or pocket. Thankfully, it won't melt. We also have very summery watermelons, pineapples, and "fresh" corn, so be sure to check out our beaded keychains today.

New Plastc Whale in Our Store

We love our new plastic whale! It looks so lifelike and its details so realistic, it makes you want to learn more about these wonderful gigantic creatures that swim through the oceans of the world. The sperm whale is recognizable by it's giant square head and very narrow lower jaw. Its jaw has lots of two-pound teeth that seem to be more useful for fighting than eating. This whale is legendary for its squabbles with giant squid and other deep-sea creatures, but the plastic sperm whale in our store is nothing but friendly. Take him or her home and see if it will whisper in your ear stories from the deep! If nothing else, it may inspire you to learn more about real sperm whales, these huge and vulnerable marine animals long hunted for their oil, called spermaceti, used in products such as candles and cosmetics.

Only at Tapir and Friends can you find a fruit bat burrito! Look at all those cute little faces. While we take conservation very seriously, we also love to have fun at work. Occasionally that means piles of octopi and fruit bat burritos. TPF is a good place to work.

Plastic Skeletons for Halloween or Education

The thigh bone's connected to the knee bone; the knee bone's connected to the shin bone...and we try not to think about it too much otherwise we start imagine our skeleton moving around inside our skin and get freaked out (or maybe that's just me). With the school year now in full swing and Halloween right around the corner, our skeleton and skull section is a great place to visit this time of year. Whether you're looking for tools for learning or spooky decor, we've got you covered!

Plastic Poseidon Toy

With our location built on pilings above the Columbia River right before it meets and marries the mighty Pacific (often with wild and boisterous rapture), Tapir and Friends is quite literally hovering over Poseidon's domain. So it seems appropriate that we should carry a version of this powerful sea god in our store. Crossing the bar can be a serious challenge, so it's good to have some awesome bar pilots in town. But crossing in bad weather is dangerous enough that saying a prayer to Poseidon might not go astray either.
