Plush Large Mouth Bass

This guy's easier to catch than the common cold!

Our Playful Plush Bass

Our stuffed plush large mouth bass or bigmouth (big mouth?) bass replica or toy is made to look a lot like a real bass with its gaping mouth and distinctive markings on a two-tone green body. Its bright eye seems so alert, and it even has bright pink fabric on the inside of its gills! One big difference is, this bass would rather cuddle than end up in your frying pan. Our stuffed bass measures 14 1/2 inches from its soft, pouty lower lip to the tip of its tail. Check out our other bass toys and gifts as well as our many, many colorful plastic fish.

About Largemouth Bass

Also known as widemouth, bigmouth, bucketmouth, black, green, Florida, and Oswego bass, the largemouth bass (Micropterus Salmoides) is native to North America, and is the state fish for Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, Florida, and Tennessee. It is the largest of the black basses, with a maximum recorded length of just under 30 inches and weight of just over 25 pounds.

A carnivore, the largemouth bass feast on virtually anything smaller than itself, including insects, crayfish, frogs, snakes, and even bats, small water fowl, mammals, and baby alligators. The prey item can be as large as 50% of the bass’s own body. Adult largemouth bass are considered apex predators in their environment, and will destroy the fauna of a closed environment without control. Because it uses hearing, sight, smell, and vibration to hunt, the largemouth bass prefers clear, open water to vegetation-rich environments that muffle sounds and vibrations and limit vision.
