In yesterday's post of a maribou stork, I mentioned that crocodiles lurk nearby. Less than 10 feet from the stork slithered this large crocodile. I am not saying its hungry, but I wouldn't pet it! We have wonderful plastic crocodiles and other plastic and stuffed reptiles at Tapir and Friends Animal World.
Crocodiles, to me, are more fearsome than alligators. I've seen alligators and birds share the same space with no problem.
ReplyDeleteFrom what I understand, alligators eat just once a month.
The problem, of course, is determining if it's the time of month when they're hungry!
We can be thanking Lee for these wonderful photos from Africa. I love the foam and the croc. I wonder if the foam comes from a waterfall, whirlpool, or ???
ReplyDeleteI see. Looking at the riffles, or whatever you call it in the stork photo, I can see that the foam is caused by the water running over pebbles. Also, I'm astonished by the color inside the croc's mouth. It's orange, not pink!
